Directory Terms of Use

The website www.mythumb.co.uk provides an online directory (hereinafter the “Directory”) listing hand surgeons (hereinafter the “Surgeon”) who use thumb implants (trapeziometacarpal prostheses) as part of the surgical treatment of thumb osteoarthritis, and who meet the eligibility criteria described in the section “Content and Use of the Directory”.

These General Terms and Conditions of Use (hereinafter the “Terms”) set out the rules governing the use of the Directory.

By using this feature available on the website www.mythumb.co.uk, the user (hereinafter the “User”) acknowledges having read and accepted these Terms without reservation.

If the User disagrees with all or part of the Terms, they must not use the Directory.

The Directory lists surgeons who use thumb implants (trapeziometacarpal prostheses) as part of the surgical treatment of thumb osteoarthritis. These are orthopaedic or plastic surgeons—originally identified in France through the SFCM (French Society for Hand Surgery)—who practise in a public or private healthcare facility and meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria (which they must be able to justify at any time):

• Practical training in an anatomy laboratory
• Participation in a scientific event dedicated exclusively to thumb osteoarthritis
• Training by a fellow surgeon
• Training provided by the industry
• Other: participation in any project requiring the use of a thumb implant

Each profile includes the following information, provided by the Surgeon:

• Title, first name and last name
• Professional address
• Secretary’s phone number
• Secretary’s e-mail address
• Website

The Directory allows the User to search for a Surgeon by geographical area, contact their secretary by phone or visit their website to obtain information and/or arrange a medical consultation.

The User acknowledges that the Directory has been created on the basis of the eligibility criteria listed above.

The Directory is for informational purposes only and must not be interpreted as a recommendation or an invitation to consult a Surgeon listed in it.

If the User cannot find a Surgeon in the area they are searching for, or if they need guidance, they are encouraged to consult their general practitioner.

Any eligible Surgeon may submit a listing request through the online form available on the website. The listing conditions are detailed in the dedicated section.

www.mythumb.co.uk does not guarantee that its Directory includes all Surgeons eligible for listing, nor that it is exhaustive for any given geographical area. As a result, the User may not find the contact details of a Surgeon when using the Directory.

www.mythumb.co.uk reminds Users that, due to its non-exhaustive nature, the Directory cannot under any circumstances be considered a referral service directing patients to specific Surgeons. It is simply an informational list based on predefined eligibility criteria and subject to each Surgeon’s agreement to appear in it.

www.mythumb.co.uk cannot be held responsible for:

• the non-performance or improper performance of a medical act by a Surgeon,
• the content of any prescription or medical document,
• any adverse effects experienced by a User following an in-person or remote consultation.

www.mythumb.co.uk accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of the information appearing on each Surgeon’s profile. Maintaining and updating this information is the sole responsibility of the Surgeon concerned.
